Department of Mechanical Engineering

Featured Research Field: Life, Environmental, and Material Science.

We provide educational service related to important study fields in the 21st century, that is, from basic knowledge of the strength of materials, dynamics of machinery, fluid dynamics and thermodynamics to high-technology of 3-D computer aided design, simulation codes of structure analysis and fluid-thermodynamics. Students are educated to cultivate power of understanding from lectures and to master creative power by exercises and practice.

Development of creative power

We think that it is very important for our students to master the creative power in the age of rapid progress. Then, many kinds of exercises and practice are provided. For example, a computer exercise of Word and Excel, computer programming of Visual Basic, computer aided engineering geometry, exercises of mechanical technology, and exercise in the application of electric devices are provided. It is also necessary for students to study communication in English and presentation methodology in business. We prepare a project for students to make a formula car and to attend Student Formula SAE Competition. By making the formula car by themselves, students get much knowledge and master the creative power.

Support for Skill up and Qualification

We have been supporting students who want to be certified as CAD engineer, fundamental information Technology engineer, or other national certifications with lectures and training. There are several alumni who have actually been certified.

Careful support for employment test and graduate school admission

Higher-level "engineering technology" has been required by companies in recent years. In order to support students who intend to pass employment tests of company and enter graduate schools, we provide extra classes with more specialized lectures and exercises.
